Cold Dead Hands – 2014 – The Year In Review
Cold Dead Hands (CDH, Inc.) started off 2014 boldly. Having just launched the CDH Store http://store.colddeadhands.us at the end of 2013, they began laying the groundwork for their “New Breed of Advocacy”, a new approach to advocacy that does not involve begging for donations or membership drives. The vision of a self-supporting, for-profit, advocacy business was born. With equal boldness, CEO Patrick James laid out the CDH Resolution for 2014. Rather than promising to speak for the people, he challenged the people themselves to get beyond the “smoke and mirrors” distractions, get involved and engaged in order to reclaim the power that was vested in We The People from the founding of these United States. A Resolution and vision which came to varying degrees of fruition across the country and showed great promise in the results of the November elections.
Cold Dead Hands reviews the Alex Pro Firearms NiB Bolt Carrier Group
When Garrett, from Alex Pro Firearms asked Cold Dead Hands to do a review on their Nickel Boron Bolt Carrier Group, I said to myself; “Sure, why not? I’ve heard a lot of hype over the NiB (nickel boron) plating, but never actually tested one.” Let’s face it, if you’re like me, who wouldn’t want something that makes clean up easier? Just ask my ex’s… I hate cleaning and sure enough, a NiB plated bolt carrier makes clean up a breeze.
Now before I get into the details of the review and the “praise” this company and their BCG will inevitably receive, I’d like to take a minute or two to explain some of the details regarding Nickel Boron plating.
Nickel Boron coatings are columnar in growth resulting in a distinct nodular topography which serves to reduce surface to surface contact of two mating / sliding surfaces reducing drag / friction. The nodular structure dissipates heat at greater efficiency due to greater surface area. Simply put; it needs less lubrication to slide more efficiently.
REVIEW: Liquid Eyewear – Precision Made in the USA.
Patrick James’ Gadsden Shades:
The first thing I noticed as I took everything out of the package was of course the “Gadsden flag” colored hingeless aluminum frames. Extremely lightweight and easily adjustable to any head size, I immediately slid them on and began to tweak them until they fit perfectly. Continuing to rummage carefully through the rest of the contents, I found that Liquid Eyewear included extra nose pieces to further customize the fit of these sweet spec”s as well as a nice soft microfiber sock in which they reside, when not in use. I also ordered the “gasket” option, needed for some of the more extreme activities I find myself doing and at first glance, they made me a little leery. After following the directions, Yes I read the directions, I applied them to the frames and with the incredible fit and technology used in making them, I have goggles as well as glasses.
